Why CNBC uses Apple Xsan for its primary storage

CNBC's graphics team doesn't just use Apple products for its designers, it also uses Apple gear in the server rooms -- specifically, an Apple Xsan. You may think it's just because they're Mac aficionados, but there's more to it than that -- the gear was actually cheaper than competing products, and it's very scalable.

Universal Joins imeem with Ad-based Music

Universal Music Group struck a deal with the social networking Web site imeem on Monday to offer its music library to site members. While they will be able to stream Universal's music and videos, site members won't be able to download any songs to their computer, and they will also have to deal with the included advertisements
